Susan Holland & Hart Relocates to Summerlin Holland & Hart LLP, the largest law firm based in the Mountain West, recently relocated its Las Vegas office to Summerlin, Nev. as part of an expansion. "The deceisin to move was based on several factors," said Greg Gilbert, Administrative Partner at Holland & Hart. "We had simply outgrown our prior office. The new space fits our current needs and allows us the flexibility to continue growing to support our clients in Nevada and around the country. Our new location also provided us with the unique opportunity to design an open, modern environment that suits our firm's culture." The office is 26, 000 square feet and features an extensive use of natural light, glass, stone and open spaces that echo the natural landscapes of southern Nevada. Holland & Hart's new office is located at 9555 Hillwood Dr., Second floor, Las Vegas, NV 891345 months ago -

Susan Las Vegas Elementary School Children to Receive 425 Pairs of Shoes Law firm Holland & Hart drops off donated shoes for the third year What: “Are these shoes really for me?” Similar expressions of surprise and gratitude have been said by the elementary school children who received a pair of shoes donated by law firm Holland & Hart in previous years. Now, during the third year of their shoe drive, the attorneys and staff purchased more than 425 pairs of shoes for the children at Liliam Lujan Elementary in the East part of the Valley. They will deliver them to the children in a presentation on Tuesday, May 10 at 9:30 am at the elementary school. The non-profit group Shoes That Fit matched Holland & Hart with the school, and provided the firm with the sizes needed. The law firm staff then purchases a pair of new shoes for each child, sometimes the first pair of new shoes the student has ever received. When: Tuesday, May 10, 2011 9:30 am Where: Liliam Lujan Hickey Elementary 2450 North Hollywood (at Lake Mead) Las Vegas, NV 89156 http://www.mapquest.com/maps?address=2450+N+Hollywood+Blvd&city=Las+Vegas&state=NV (702) 799-1899 About Holland and Hart With more than 60 Nevada lawyers in our Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City offices, Holland & Hart, through its combination with the firm Hale Lane, has served individuals, businesses, and communities in Nevada for more than 40 years. Susan The Nevada Employment Security Council unanimously voted to recommend an increase in the average unemployment insurance tax rate to 2%, from the current 1.33%. While the administrator of the Employment Security Division will make the final rate determination in December, the council’s recommendations are always closely followed. This action was necessary because Nevada has been borrowing close to $100 million per month from the federal government to pay unemployment claims. By the end of 2010, the UI trust fund will be almost $1 billion in debt. Federal law requires states to begin repaying that loan, with interest, on Jan. 1, 2011. Business groups supported a modest rate increase so as to minimize the pain during the slow economy. Some had suggested increases as high as 3%, while others urged moderation and only a slight increase. The more state UI taxes that Nevada employers pay up front, the less federal unemployment insurance taxes will increase and the less interest we’ll all pay in the long run. As always, your specific UI rate will depend on your experience rating and employee turnover.1 year ago -
