A special, spring Saturday series of landscape tours will be offered at the Demonstration Gardens on Cooperative Extension’s campus. The tours are free and open to the public.
To join the tour, meet in the Courtyard at the Lifelong Learning Center located at 8050 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89123 (I-215 and Windmill Lane). Contact the Master Gardener Help Desk at 702-257-5555 or email lvmastergardeners@unce.unr.edu for more information.
Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m.—spring is here landscape tour—desert plants come alive.
Volunteer Master Gardeners will discuss desert adapted plants which can be successfully grown in the home landscape. The Demonstration Gardens contain over 500 species of desert appropriate landscape plants, including: trees, shrubs, perennials, palms, cacti and agaves. Plants are identified by botanical and common names. The grounds are open for self-guided walk-a-bouts on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Master Gardeners will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a community event, “Garden Gala,” on April 21, 2012. Garden tours, talks and demos will be offered.
